Learning Around Europe

This blog is going to be the tool to work and keep record of the experimental ELOS project with 2bA, 27 students of 2nd year of Batxiler from the Aixerrota BHI.

During the second & third terms, January-May 2008, they’ll be working in pairs one hour a week, developing blogs. Those blogs will be the support for some virtual trips each pair will design and write about in the shape of a trip-diary, album, project, etc.

Directions for each session will be posted by the teacher on this blog and the students will create a corresponding post on their blogs.

The aimis to develop knowledge about European countries in a very wide sense. The emphasis is on the abilities to get around, find relevant & useful information to solve every day situations in a new country, develop attitudes that allow them to learn about places, people, culture, reinforcement of many scool learnings (history, geography, languages, …) rather than the mere acquisition of specific academical knowledge.

And at the same time a natural extension of English language input, written production, classroom oral interaction, and of course, the application of ICT.

Moreover, the situation provides a relaxed atmosphere and the possibility for the students to develop as autonomous learners of language and EU related content.
